With 20 years of experience working in international business, technical project management, and organisational change Timothy has the knowledge and ability to take ownership of any situation and bring about a favourable outcome.
“Organisations need people who can shoulder responsibility, make decisions, and communicate effectively. This combination is more rare among managers than it should be.”
Timothy graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2000 and entered the telecoms industry on a graduate training program. When the dot-com bubble burst he moved into risk and safety consulting, initially in the nuclear sector before transferring to oil and gas. Seizing an opportunity for international experience, Timothy moved to the Middle East where he spent the next three years on consultancy projects in Oman, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar.
After taking a personal interest in the former Soviet Union and seeking new horizons, Timothy took charge of an industrial service company on Sakhalin Island in the Russian far east. For several years he made the island his home, growing the business before handing over to local management and joining a succession of multinational companies.
Timothy’s experience in hardship locations made him an ideal candidate for a position in Nigeria with an energy major, where he managed a multidisciplinary team of expatriates and local staff. After three years his reputation for being results-orientated and able to work independently led his management to move him to Australia to set up a company office in support of a major project. When this assignment was completed, Timothy was transferred to corporate headquarters to apply his knowledge and experience in the centralised functions of the company.
After five years Timothy was ready for new challenges, and embarked upon an MBA with a Major in Human Resources Management at the EU Business School in Geneva. He founded Newman Eventus that year with the intention of providing managerial expertise to companies undergoing change.
When not working, Timothy likes to ski, read, and play the guitar.
